Katarzyna Estate triumphed once again with great recognition at one of the world’s most important wine competitions MUNDUS VINI SPRING TASTING 2022. Katarzyna Reserve 2016 was awarded two prizes – the Grand Gold trophy and “Best Bulgarian Wine (Best of Show)”. For the first time, Katarzyna Estate wine was awarded the Grand Gold Medal, and the wines that received this award are only 47 of a total of 3,022 awarded wines.
With Gold medals returned from the competition also Katarzyna Question Mark 2017, Katarzyna Question Mark 2019, Le Voyage Cabernet Franc & Syrah 2020, Cheval de Katarzyna Mavrud 2020, and a silver medal received Contemplations Merlot & Malbec 2020.
Wines with Gold medals will be presented in a special area during the largest wine and spirits exhibition ProWein in Düsseldorf, Germany. It will take place in mid-May and is the largest trade forum of its kind in the world.
MUNDUS VINI competition is very important for all wine producers, because the best sommelier makes their choice generally from wines awarded with Best of Show and Grand Gold medals. Thus, these wines are included in the super selections of the wine lists of Michelin restaurants or restaurants in the most famous 5 stars hotels. That is why these medals are extremely important for Katarzyna Estate, for the marketing and positioning of our wines.
On the other hand, the fact that we win these great awards every year is proof that our wines meet the trends in wine style, which change almost every year.
We have been participating in this competition since 2009 and every year we win Gold medals. For the eighth consecutive year we receive the award for “Best of Show”. Unprecedented success for Katarzyna Estate in one of the largest and most prestigious wine competitions in the world – China Wine & Spirits Awards Best Value 2022. All six wines sent for evaluation returned to Bulgaria with Gold medals. Double Gold medal and the trophy. “Bulgarian Wine of the Year” received Question Mark Gold 2017.
Contemplations Merlot & Malbec 2020, Encore Syrah 2019, Katarzyna Reserve 2016, The Estate Cabernet Franc 2020 and The Estate Chardonnay 2020 received gold awards.
Wines which are awarded medals in this competition immediately attract the attention of distributors and customers and this is a proof of their qualities. CWSA (China Wine & Spirits Awards) is the largest and most prestigious wine and spirits competition in China and Hong Kong. The judges are highly professional and the evaluation they give for wines strongly influences the demand among consumers in this huge and fast-growing market.

The brilliant presentation China Wine & Spirits Awards 2022 is another recognition for Katarzyna Estate and Bulgarian wine.

Katarzyna Estate received the prize for “Sustainable Export to Foreign Markets” at the annual “Standard” awards during the traditional forum “Yes! For Bulgarian food. ” The award was handled to Tsvetelina Nikolova by H.E. Zakia El Midaoui, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco in Bulgaria. “This year, Katarzyna Estate successfully entered the US market. Thanks to the team for all the effort they put in. We need to show the world that Bulgaria produces extremely high quality products, “said Ms. Tsvetelina Nikolova.

Katarzyna Estate took part in the international exhibition Wine & Spirits Ukraine 2021 – a meeting place for manufacturers from around the world with sommelier, importers, distributors, representatives of retail and restaurant business from Ukraine. More than 200 wine and alcoholic beverages producers took part in the exhibition. The initiator and organizer of our participation is the Bulgarian Wine making & Export Association, chaired by Galina Niforou. The wines from the CHEVAL series were received with applause during a series of special tastings in this big wine forum.

Katarzyna Estate wines were part of the official ceremony of the editorial office of one of the largest news media in Bulgaria – FAKTI.
The editorial office will be on the name of H.E. Camillo Zuccoli, Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to Bulgaria, who died in 2019. For almost 20 years Camillo Zuccoli was at the heart of the devotional activity of the Maltese Order in Bulgaria. The ceremony was attended by H.M. Simeon II, the wife of Camillo Zuccoli, who inherited his post as Ambassador of the Order in Bulgaria – Ursula Zuccoli, ambassadors, representatives of the Order of Malta, the director responsible for relations with the Order of Malta and the Holy See in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Stefan Dimitrov.

For consecutive year KATARZYNA ESTATE was part of the calendar of Pirin Golf Hotel & SPA *****, where KATARZYNA ESTATE Grand AM was held-one of the most exciting events in the program of golfers. The weather was wonderful and all the friends of the sport had great playing conditions. A bottle of rose was waiting for each player at registration, and there were special prizes for the winners, which KATARZYNA ESTATE handed out at the end of the day.
For the perfect finish, participants enjoyed a BBQ in front of “Half Way House” and a tasting of selected wines.

On August 31, under the starry sky, the square in front of St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral turned into a stage for an exciting and incredible spectacle. Opera prima Sonya Yoncheva and the famous tenor Placido Domingo presented to the audience the exclusive concert “Galata in Sofia” and for two hours performed arias from famous operas accompanied by the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra.
The stylish cocktail after the event was attended by selected guests who enjoyed a selection of wines from KATARZYNA ESTATE.

“Best of Show” and a golden victory for Katarzyna Reserve 2017 at one of the three most prestigious world wine competitions – Mundus Vini Summer Tasting 2021! Gold awards were also given to Encore Syrah 2019, Contemplations Merlot & Malbec 2019, The Estate Merlot 2019, and a silver medal – The Estate Chardonnay 2019. For the sixth time Katarzyna Estate was awarded this prize. This is a result of the consistency in the quality of our wines for 15 years and following the world trends in production.

We took part in one of the big wine exhibitions in New York – USA Trade Tasting. Katarzyna Estate presents its wines with great success to suppliers, buyers and specialists in the field of wine and alcoholic beverages. USATT 2021 aims to promote the individual brands represented and to expand their recognition and distribution in the United States. The organization is due to the Bulgarian Association of Wine Producers and Exporters, whose chairman is Galina Niforu and is implemented under the project From Europe with Love.

KATARZYNA RESERVE 2016 entered convincingly in the special ranking of DiVino – TOP 10q which is designed for wines of limited series. These limited series reflect the winemakers’ idea of the perfect wine. They are the most pampered “children”, the result of special gentle care and each of them is a masterpiece of wine art.
And KATARZYNA QUESTION MARK GOLD 2017 is in the jubilee tenth ranking of the best wines for 2020 – DiVino TOP 50. The ranking is made on the basis of year-round regular tastings, which test and evaluate over – 500 wines!
