MUNDUS VINI is one of the three most serious wine competitions in the world, founded by Meininger Verlag and held every year. We participate in both editions of the competition – Spring and Summer Tasting, because our policy is to send wines for evaluation in the largest and most renowned world wine competitions. So far, in this competition, our wines have been awarded 39 gold medals, and 4 of them have received the trophy – “Best of Show”, which is given to the wine with the best qualities from the corresponding country.

The new series of labels of “Contemplations” Merlot & Malbec 2019 is already a fact, and this time it expresses the contemplation of the natural beauty. Decanter is one of the most important wine competitions. This year, during its 17-th edition, 116 top wine experts tasted and evaluated over 16,500 wines from around the world. The tastings lasted 28 days under the strictest measures because of Covid 19.

Gold medal for QUESTION MARK GOLD 2016 at the ninth edition of the Balkan wine competition -THE BALKANS INTERNATIONAL WINE COMPETITON. Nearly 200 wineries took part in the competition, presenting their best wines to the international jury. The festival part was held in a kind of wine town in the open space in front of the National Palace of Culture from 17 to 19 September.

For the sixth time the Bulgarian winery proved the world quality of its wines at one of the three most prestigious world wine competitions MUNDUS VINI SUMMER TASTING 2020. This year the trophy “Best of Show” received one of the flagships of KATARZYNA ESTATE – Question Mark Gold 2016. This wine was awarded also for its indisputable qualities with a gold medal. Another one of the most remarkable wines of the winery received a gold award – Encore Syrah 2017. Silver medal is for Katarzyna Reserve 2017.
Under strict hygiene conditions, this year a jury of 120 world wine experts tested almost 4,500 wines from around the world for four days. The results are really impressive – 13 Grand Gold, 919 Gold and 849 silver medals awarded to various wines and wineries from all over the world. Each country has one excellent wine for the best wine of all sent for test wines – “Best of show”.

MUNDUS VINI jury is composed of world wine experts – technologists, winemakers, professional wine merchants, journalists with high expertise in wine tasting. The principle of evaluation is blind tasting, as the samples are distributed for testing by category, origin, level of quality, aroma, and the evaluation itself is based on the 100-point scheme of the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV), recognized by the International Organization of oenologists (UIOE).
The participation and the received trophies are of exceptional commercial and image importance for us, because the awarded wines are presented in March to tens of thousands of traders at the largest wine exhibition in the world – ProWein in Dusseldorf … Our goal is to make our wines a symbol of high quality and excellent marketing, with which to contribute to the development of the image not only of the winery, but also of Bulgaria as a world-class wine producer. “

KATARZYNA ESTATE once again won with its great wines in China Wine & Spirits Awards 2020. Five of the wines sent for tasting returned with Gold medals, Syrah 2018 ENCORE and has a Double Gold medal! In the middle of August the grape harvest begins in KATARZYNA ESTATE. We are starting with the picking of the white grapes, then at the end of the month the red grapes are processed to produce rose wine. The grapes processing starts with high-tech and modern French and German machines, but also with the help of manual operations – and the result is products of very high quality. At the end of the month part of our heigh class red wines will be bottled, such as QUESTION MARK and ENCORE SYRAH.
