The 2020 vintage was outstanding, it can even be described as one of the best for Katarzyna Estate. It inspired our technologists Svilen and Ivan Kisiovi to create the Single Barrel project – an extremely limited series with which we wanted to build on everything up to now and make something really special. We settled on four red varieties, from which to vinify only a single barrel of 225 liters and bottled only 150 magnum bottles. We have selected the best grapes, from the best plots, fermentation takes place in new French oak barrels, after which the wine is aged for 10 months. We settled on four red varieties, selected so that the terroir and its character were maximally expressed – Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Syrah.

“Single Barrel Cabernet Franc” is characterized by an intense red color with a violet hue. Ripe aromas of red, black fruits and spices intertwined with leather and chocolate from classy French oak. The taste of the wine is fine and elegant, and the taste aroma fully justifies the expectations generated by the aroma profile. The finish is long-lasting and memorable, which is a mark of the wine’s class.

The wine goes very well with spicy dishes, with big game dishes or cured meats.
