The 2020 vintage was exceptional, it could even be defined as one of the best for Katarzyna Estate. It inspired our winemakers, Svilen and Ivan Kisyovi, to create the Single Barrel – project an extremely limited series with which we aimed to build upon everything so far and create something truly special. We selected four red grape varieties, from which we vinified only one single barrel of 225 liters each, and bottled only 150 magnum bottles. We handpicked the best grapes from the best plots, with fermentation carried out in new French oak barrels, followed by 10 months of aging. We chose four red varieties, selected in a way that best expresses the terroir and its character — Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Syrah.
„Single Barrel Syrah“ It is characterized by an intense red color with a violet hue. The aroma of red fruits is intertwined with notes of smoke and vanilla from the fine French oak barrel in which the wine was aged. The taste is delicate and balanced, with flavors of ripe red fruits and a long-lasting finish.
The wine pairs very well with dishes made with turkey, salmon, spicy delicacies, or roasted red meats.
